START THE PILOT TRAINING JOURNEY

FLIGHT TRAINING

Pilots are required to learn continuously. Even after cadets master basic flight skills, training continues with every new aircraft and role throughout their careers.

Altitude is designed to provide the necessary education and skills that will enable students to be prepared both technically and professionally for a career opportunity flying at Allegiant for those that qualify. Ground school courses further train students with academic information and standardized practices to perform flight duties.

FLIGHT TRAINING FOR FAA MILESTONES*:

Private Pilot Certificate

Cadets start by earning a private pilot certificate. This is when aspiring pilots learn to fly an aircraft. Training occurs on Cessna 172s equipped with Garmin G1000 avionics.

Instrument Rating

Once a candidate has their private pilot certificate, they may earn their instrument rating. This demonstrates a pilot’s ability to fly through weather conditions that require navigation with instruments.

Commercial Pilot Certificate

This certificate could allow candidates to receive payment for flying. Achieving this milestone is key to building flight hours and working toward the required Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.

Multi-Engine Rating

A multi-engine rating builds on the commercial pilot certificate. Candidates may train in a twin-engine Piper Seminole at higher speeds and altitudes.

Flight Instructor Certification

As a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), candidates may build flight hours while training new Altitude cadets and independent students. Achieving this milestone is required to moving further in the pathway.

Flight Instructor Instrument Certification

As a Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument (CFII), CFIs may use their experience to train cadets for their instrument rating.

LEADERSHIP TRAINING

Altitude flight instructors (CFIs) may complete leadership training, enhancing their skills, knowledge, and ultimately their effectiveness in the workplace and in the flight deck. Courses such as Team Management, Leading and Motivating, and Managing Diversity are examples of Altitude coursework from Harvard ManageMentor, sponsored by Harvard Business Publishing.

Achieving CFI milestone is required to beginning leadership training.*

ALLEGIANT APPLICATION

Once Leadership Training is completed, CFIs can apply for a position at Allegiant. If accepted candidates will receive a conditional offer contingent upon remaining in good standing with the school, completion of required ATP (Airline Transport Pilot) hours, and other Allegiant employment qualifications.*

BUILDING ATP HOURS

To obtain an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, candidates must meet minimum flying hour requirements*, which can be done as an Altitude flight instructor.

While time-building, candidates may have opportunities to train at Allegiant’s training centers in FAA Level D Full Flight Simulators and to complete their Airline Transport Pilot Certification Training Program (ATP/CTP).

JET TRANSITION COURSE

The jet transition course includes the ground and simulator training necessary to prepare for airline operations in the multi-crew environment, covering the prerequisites necessary to prepare for successful transition to Allegiant*:
  • Airline Life & Flight Physiology
  • Basic Airline Structure
  • High Altitude/High Speed Aerodynamics
  • Turbine Engines
  • Basic Jet Aircraft Systems
  • The Automated Flight Deck
  • C.R.M.
  • Simulator Training

FLY AT ALLEGIANT

Upon completing Altitude Pilot Pathway training and required hours, cadets may have the opportunity to begin their career at Allegiant*.
